The short version
PickUp Score is a free scoreboard for pickup basketball. We collect the minimum needed to run it: your name and email if you create a scorer account, the games you save, and anonymous-by-default usage analytics. We don't sell your data, show ads, or share your information with anyone except the services that host the app. People watching a display never need an account and are never tracked personally.
What we collect
- Account details — your name, email address, and optional nickname, stored with our database provider (Supabase) when you sign up as a scorer.
- Game data — the games you finish: team names, scores, fouls, format, timestamps, and any player first names you add to a roster. Player names are free text you enter; don't add anything a teammate wouldn't want stored.
- Usage analytics — events like "game created" or "display paired" via PostHog, tied to your account only after you sign in, so we can tell whether the product is actually useful. Displays remain anonymous.
- Error reports — if the app crashes, a technical report may be sent to Sentry. These reports are scrubbed of personal information.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your data. Ever.
- We don't show ads or share data with advertisers.
- We don't require accounts to watch a scoreboard.
- We don't collect location, contacts, or anything from your microphone beyond live voice-command processing in your browser — audio is processed by your browser's speech recognition and is never stored by us.
Where your data lives
The app is hosted on Vercel; accounts and game data live in Supabase; analytics in PostHog; error reports in Sentry. Each processes data on our behalf under their own security practices. Live game state during a session also stays in your own browser's storage.
Your choices
You can delete your saved games from your history at any time. To delete your account and everything tied to it, email duranthedev@gmail.com and we'll remove it within 30 days.
